Question:

What types of brakes are there on an aircraft?

Considering all the types of brakes. From the Cessna to the B747. What braking systems do we have?

Answer:

The wheel can fall off if the lug nuts come loose, but not because of a bearing problem. However, bearing problems are nothing to muck around with, as severe damage can occur if the bearing should fail, so go ahead and spend the $461.
If your bearings are shot it can cause extra friction and vibration which can do a few things. 1) the friction will cause heating and cooling of the metal this will cause the bolts to loosen themselves slowly. 2 the vibrations can cause the bolts to loosen themselves off slowly. 3) the friction and vibration together can potentially damage other parts of your suspension as well. If you are asking this because you want to drive the car anyways i would advise you to error on the side of caution and not drive it as there is a CHANCE that something will happen whether it be extra damage and or loss of a wheel wheich would end up bad!
Hydraulically-operated disc brakes.
Hydraulically operated disc brakes are typical. In recent aircraft, carbon disc brakes are used.
Aircraft use Hydraulic disc brakes. Size is dependent on size of aircraft. A Cessna may have one small single rotor at each main wheel. Large Jumbos have Multi rotor discs, 5-8 discs at each main wheel. Each brake can weight more than 200-300 lbs. They all have some form of anti skid system to prevent locking brakes on landing.
