Question:

Where can I get a piece of sheet copper appropriate to make an exhaust gasket?

I have this old Chevy with a 454 and this lame EFE/Heat riser thing between the header and collector .The EFE/Heat riser mates to the header on a flat surface but the stock gaskets leak or blow out .I‘d like to make my own out of sheet copper ,,,,,, Know where I can find some ?

Answer:

Its on the control arm on the right of steering wheel. Its the little flap that sticks out toward the back.
Just use orange RTV. If the gasket(s) are blowing out, it's much more likely you are getting movement at that joint, not that the gasket is an issue. The exhaust behind the motor should be fairly solidly mounted, if you can move the tailpipe easily with your hand, the exhaust isn't done right. Also, bad/weak motor mounts can cause exhaust leaks. I've lived this before, loose exhaust and motor mounts will wreak havoc since the motor moves, and if the exhaust can move with it, you end up shaking things loose.
find a hobby lobby they sell it
