Check your radiator water level. You might need to top it off. The line going into the fire wall from off the water pump should be hotter than the line coming back out, since the little heater radiator (aka heater core) will cool the hot water down a little as it is working. If your getting intermittent operation, you may have a blockage in the heater core or more likely you have a low radiator level in your cars main radiator.
yes they do drain batteries a little.but as long as ur car's electrical system is in good working order u shud b fine and wiring it correctly will require some parts removal/re-installation. and what wud b teh point of a silent alarm??i mean im sure u cud get 1 made up but wud cost u way more than a off the shelf and wat's the point? and u shdu b able to get an ok system for under 300u can get electric only system for around 50 bucks.they work only if a door/hood/trunk is opened and a light comes on.good luck
