Question:

Why does my mom hate China?

She nevers buys product made from China, and she said that China uses chemical in most of their product, and also tried to claim the country of Vietnam. Would you agree or not? If so, please state your reasoning.

Answer:

just a pipe and filter. don't waste your money and mess up your emissions.
People in the 70s did the same thing about products from Japan. Now look, nobody cares if something is made in Japan.
China has become known for unsafe products. Many toys have lead paint, parts that can be choked on etc. Pet foods have killed American pets. Many other products are badly made and break too easily. The people in China go crazy for American made products as small as a bottle opener and will buy them out the day they arrive. THEY even say the stuff made there is garbage.
I don't know what country you are in, but with $433 Billion dollars of goods and services brought in from China a year, and most countries have large amounts of China imports, you are very challenged to NOT buy anything made in China, and you don't even know about sub-components in a larger product. Cars can be USA made from China parts. The world uses chemicals. Polyester cloths are made from petroleum. All plastics are from petroleum. Paints and varnishes, coatings, food coloring, even additives to bottled water has chemicals. As to Vietnam, I could not possibly see how things made in vietnam would be any better than in Mainland China. Labor costs moved up in eastern China and production moved west and as that also rises, things move to Vietnam where labor rates are even lower and technology and control is weaker. China Gross Domestic Product is now about US$6420 per person. That is the value of goods and services produced per person. Vietnam is at about $1685. What was American made leather goods transitioned to China made leather goods and then became man-made cheaper materials made in China and now the sneakers and tennis shoes have Made in Vietnam labels on them. It took me almost an hour to find leather Nike sneakers (tennis shoes), made in China as premium to the made in Vietnam. The lowest grade coffee beans sold in the USA are grown in Vietnam. A country that is more impoverished than China is not going to have safer and higher quality products. They will be cheaper and that's it. I have been to China and the government controls are weak compared to the USA, and Vietnam is even worse than China. My Chemical Engineering and Business degrees and Asian travels tell me that North Korea is probably lower on the scale than Vietnam for that region, but in comparison, as little as I trust China products, I trust Vietnamese even less. At least in China, a company doing business there can get high quality items if they know what they are doing.
