If your fencing is safe, I'd leave them alone. Trying to soothe them could get yourself hurt. Friends of mine had a few 4th of July parties, complete with fireworks. During the first the horses ran around like crazy, bucking and farting, but didn't hurt themselves. By the third one they were running and showing off for the people before the fireworks, but during the fireworks I noticed that they were grazing on the other side of the field. Horses are amazingly adaptable creatures, but do not put yourself in a position where a panicked horse might run you over. That could be a life changing or ending event.
