2003 ford focus jerking and check engine light is on?

Answer:

Take your car to any auto parts store and have the codes read. Without knowing what the codes are we won't know what system is messed up. Autozone, Oreilly's and others will read the codes for free.
The codes need to be checked and then the sensors that are showing the fault need to be tested properly. I have seen many fault codes set be an external problem other then the sensor that set the code. Get a diagnostic check at a shop , this usually will cost about one hours labor. This way you will not be throwing parts you dont need at your car. The auto parts stores want to sell parts and the scan of a fault will not let you know if the sensors are functioning.
You need to pull DTC's with a scanner. Most likely since the car is jerking, the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission is bad.
