Question:

96 Honda Civic brake issue?

I have a 96 Honda Civic DX. I have tried several stores to get new front brake pads (Pep Boys, Auto Zone). None of their brake pads will fit my car and I have to return them. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know why their pads wont fit my car? Some pads were too long, others had the tabs in the wrong spot. Any information you could provide would help.

Answer:

Its really simple to understand, plugs do not reinforce the damaged area, they can damage it further but a patch will not damage the tire
Modern puncture repairs are carried out with plug patches, a sort of mushroom shaped plug It is pulled through from the inside, and bonded to the tyre using a vulcanising solution. It cannot fall out as the air pressure holds it in.
DX trim had the smaller braking system compared to the other trims. Just make sure that they give you a pad for the right trim. Most people don't know that so they just assume that it's one size fits all.
