If you have one of the more modern anti lock brake systems, then yes, it's computer controlled. I drive one, a 96 Windstar, with the anti lock system, four wheel, and it's cotrolled by a computer and is a real pain which doesn't work half the time. And the braking is actually better without the system being activated.
