Question:

A coating is being applied to reduce the reflectivity of a pane of glass to light with a wavelength of 522 nm?

incident near the normal to the pane. If the material has an index of refraction of 1.375, how thick should the coating be?

Answer:

They do sometimes have cameras near them. I doubt they have alarms.
Maybe the pilot light in the oven blew out? Can you light it manually? BUT..don't fool around with lit matches if you smell gas. If you rent, call your landlord. If you own, you'll have to call someone.
I think those markers are covered with Scotchlite paint. It is a special reflective material that reflects light back in the direction of its source. Many of the special motion capture cameras have a light ring around them to cast a light source in the same direction as the camera lens. The scotchlite can then reflect this specific wavelength of light back to that camera. The reflectivity is so high that the only thing that reads is the markers.
