Question:

Are Dextero tires worth a damn?

Anyone have any info on Dextero tires from Walmart? Are they any good? Any or all info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:

Walmart sells name brand tires that are easy to research online. Their economy brand is called Douglas and is made by Goodyear. In regards to the answer about Walmart tires sitting around for years, that is really silly when considering the volume that Walmart moves. When looking at a tire look for the DOT number. The last four numbers tell you when the tire was made. The first two numbers are the week and the second are the year. If you look in their on hand inventory you will likely never see a tire that is a year old. Believe some guy on the internet or go look.
I ve had the same set of Dextero tires from Walmart on my GMC Sierra 1500 for about 2 years now. They have been great! No problems at all and I ve been many places on them. I live in Oklahoma and Have driven to south Florida and back on these tires 3 times with no problems. Walmart would not rotate these now because of tire wear, so will drive them back home to Oklahoma and buy new ones. These are some good tires and if you take care of them, rotate and keep them inflated well, these may last you a long time.
Dont listen to the first guy. You would need to go to the recruiter and tell them you are interested in switching. e will work with you in seeing whether or not you qualify for HM. If you do, he will have to put in some paperwork to see if they will allow you to switch rates. If they can, they will allow you to switch. Keep in mind that this will most likely change the date you leave for boot camp. Whatever you do, do NOT wait until you get to boot camp, as they no longer allow you to swap from one rate to another once you arrive in Great Lakes.
HOLY CRAP! (No pun intended) You're an HT?!?!? The nickname for this rate is turd chaser. Get used to being called turd chaser 3rd class and so on., Basically, you hold a lot of power in this situation. You really need to change rates man., There is one opportunity to do so at bootcamp but the only other way to really get around it is to go in as an undesignated seaman/airman/constructionman/fireman. j I would suggest trying to work it so you go in as an UNDES AIRMAN. You'll be happiest with that set-up., trust me on that one.,
Do not buy tires from WalMart. Their tire stock may sit in the warehouse for years. Anywhere you buy tires check the manufacture date on the sidewall. I have seen tires at WM that are 5 to 6 years old. So they have just sat their and deteriorated. Age is the biggest failure of a tire.
