Question:

Doral Tires, Anyone have them??

Hi i have a 2003 beetle and I need new tires. The goodyear guy is trying to sell me tires that cost $600-800. I have to believe that there are just as good tires for me out there that won‘t cost me 3 monthsworth of a car payment. I was looking through their sale tires and I have a deal with Doral tires. All 4 tires for $300. Are these good tires?? Does anyone have these tires on their car? Did you like them or not? Thanks

Answer:

well, its just that too many people are too lazy to buy a stick shift, they want manual transmission. But things they don't realize are: A stick shift gets better mileage A stick shift breaks down less because of the less engine needs Stick shifts are better because people who don't know how to drive them can't break into them A stick shift has a less complicated engine because it doesn't need the ability to automatically switch gears
Stickshifts are way better than automatics, cause they're not boring, and they help you keep your eyes on the road instead of your cell phone. I love my manual SUV, even though it gets sucky mileage, cause its fun to drive
ill never buy an automatic, and if all car companies discontinue manual, ill have to take a trip to ecology auto wrecking and pick up an old one, and put er in. screw automatic. and whats with all the car companies advertising and bragging about 35 mpg, i have a 90 yota and I get far far more than that, around 42 mpg. and its because i dont speed up to stop signs with my car in gear like every single person who drives an automatic car does, gas brake gas brake gas, no time in between lifting foot off of gas pedal and putting it on brakes, i try to stretch that time to as long as i possibly can in neutral and i end up at the same light they just raced up to. people are stupid. coast and you will have the most.gas milage
One thing for certain when shopping tires, you truely get what you pay for. If you are only shopping price, be prepared to purchase sooner / more often and have a crappy , noisey ride. Spend a little extra, for a smooth comfortable ride , and a higher quality item. I know tires aren't an exciting purchase, that you can call your friends over to brag on what you just bought. but you have alot riding on your tires. You , or your family included.
Cheap tires are just that, cheap.as in poorly made, most likely in a 3rd world country.I strongly recommend the best tires you can afford.Goodyears are often pricey, shop around, look for sales in the Sunday sports section. Some good affordable brands include Dunlop,Cooper, Sumitomo,Falken and BF Goodrich. The best tires in the world are Michelin,Continental and Pirelli, but they are very expensive. What ever you do, PLEASE don't buy Roadhugger tires, they're crap.
