Question:

Engineering Catogeries for metals?

I have to put the follwing metals in their respective enginnering catogeries, please can someone tell be the engineering catogeries that exsist. The metals are as follows:Galvanised SteelMild SteelCopperTin Plated Mild SteelAluminium (L72) - DuraluminBrassLeadThermosetting PlasticButile Rubber

Answer:

Most metals are toxic to almost all living organisms, absorbtion through the skin is often very slow or doesn't occur in any significant amount, putting it in its mouth is much more dangerous The smaller an animal is, the less metal is needed to be toxic enough to affect it, so avoid giving animals metal toys I could clarify more on most metals and animals, but it's irrelevant, don't give small children or animals any metals
I've just now read zinc, lead, brass, and nickel are all toxic to parakeets. Rust is also toxic to them.........Stainless steel is safe. Steel is attracted to a magnet, so I would remove anything metal that isn't attracted to a magnet. ......It says plastic is safe, though I still wonder if there are different sorts of plastic. It does say PCV is safe.....I'm reading from a couple of different websites.
I have read that zinc and lead are toxic to parakeets, but nickel is supposed to be safe. From what i understand, of all the toys at the pet shop, all the little bells are made of nickel. I have only had my birds for about 5 months, but they have brass, nickel and stainless in their cage and i have had no problems thus far.
