Well it's not cotton because cotton breathes and you can't breathe in space. It dosn't rip too easily, so probably something woven on a loom maybe silk?

It is made of space. Nothing more. In the mathematics of relativity, space and time can change, which is sometimes depicted as kind of like a rubber sheet stretching and bending.
