Question:

How do i use a SD Card reader/writer?

I just got a SD Card reader and writer, but i'm not sure how to use it; i follow the instructions and nothing happens. Everytime i take my SD card out my camera and put it in the Reader nothing shows up on my laptop. Can any one tell me how a SD reader suppose to work.

Answer:

You did take some pictures right? Usually card readers appear as an additional drive. If you go to My Computer there should be a drive you don't recognize. Double Click on it. If it has your photos in it there will usually be another folder like DCIM then inside that will be the numbered folders with the images. If you add more details as to what you have tried, we might be able to help more.
Yeah, that's a good idea. Be sure there are some pictures on it. Open your photo editting software. Do whatever you usually do to open a file, but click on the selector where you can change drives. Your card reader will be assigned a new drive name that will be one letter higher than you ever saw before, such as Drive G: or such. Then, just double click on the name of the file you want to open and it will appear in your photo editor. I use Photoshop Elements and as soon as I plug my card into the reader, it starts its own card reader and displays a thumbnail of every picture on the card.
