I would suggest putting pelcos in your pond,they will help to eliminat the algae.I would put three large ones in there.They will also help keep the turtle shell clean to.
when fighting a large algea problem, i used many algae eaters at a time. at least 4. get the plecostomus. they seem to have worked best for me.
