Question:

How often do you need to change dirtbike brakes?

If you are using this every weekend for a year how often? and how much would brakes cost?PS: these are disc brakes

Answer:

Suspect you have a sport bike. If YES, then this is the price you pay for performance. If YES to the sport bike question, you bought a road racer. Road racers are fitted with very grippy performance tires that wear very quickly. Hence one of the many reasons I don't recommend sport bikes for everyday road use.
5K for street tires is excessive, I guess , I get about 9-10K, under reasonable use, no burnouts. But tires have different rubber compounds for traction, more traction means less wear. That's why race tires barely make 100 Miles and races are scheduled for 75, they wear like art gum erasers.
You can have soft tires that grip, or you can have hard tires that last. You cannot have both. If you are riding 15,000 miles a year on a motorcycle you are probably touring, mostly straight line. Those who do that ride on car tires, they don't lean enough to need motorcycle tires. Me? I like my skin. I am riding on Metzeler ME880's.
Yeah, it's easy to tell if you need new brake pads. It's chains and sprockets where most people screw up and wait too long.
Brake *pads* are cheap, you do not need to replace the whole brake system unless it becomes damaged or useless. From the top of my head, they should last a couple years. But you can EASILY check them just by eye balling it (PS, there are a hundred other things to replace on a dirt bike besides brake pads).
