Ever since it rained a couple of weeks ago my car has continuously started making a grunt noise on the driver side everytime i go over a speed bump. This is a brand new car that people rarely ever see or new that was out. what's the problem?
If the hearsay had absolutely no truth to it then the terminated employee Might have legal recourse. But the fact that you said that employee talked bad to someone to another employee is most certainly grounds for termination. Most employees are at -will employees and can be terminated for little or no reason except for racial, gender, sexual affiliation, or religious reasons.
Most states, are labeled as 'at-will' and an employer does NOT have to say anything other than the person is being 'let go' and the effective date. Anything more than that..then the company can be sued.
It's legal to put whatever you want on a termination notice. There's nothing illegal about firing something because of hearsay.
Do not go to the test, because clearly you are not capable of passing.
No and it would not be legal to fire someone on that basis ever. The person fired would have every fired and win a wrongful dismissal law suit and the company involved would be fined thousands of dollars. Really bad reason to try and fire someone over. You need to prove someone did destroy something. just someone else saying some one said it is not enough. What if that person was lying or trying to get another in trouble. The company should talk to the person concerned as say it is bets to watch what you say in future. You can not fire someone over this it is not legal to do so.
