Answer:

Okay, here's the pattern- let me know if something needs clarificationI've never written one beforeI based the pattern on a basic mitten patternCO 36 sts on 6mm DPNS in purple Knit in 1X1 ribbing for 2-3 inches Knit one row all the way around Then you start the hand gussets: -knit 1, place markerknit 18, place marker, knit 1, place marker, finish round-Increase 1 st, knit around to the next marker, increase 1 stYou should now have 2 sts in between the beginning of the row and the first marker, and in between the second and third markers-knit the next row -increase the first stitch of the row, and then the last stitch before the first markerthen knit around to the second set of markersincrease 1 st after the first marker, then increase 1 st at the st before the second marker-knit the next row -continue this pattern until there are 10 sts in between each set of markers-next round: knit across the first 10 sts of the rowput them on a stitch holderthen knit to the other set of markers, knit across those 10 sts, and place them on a marker- knit 3 more rounds with the purple-switch to a beigeish skin tone and knit 4 rounds-switch to black and knit 1 round- knit 3 rounds of red -knit 3 rounds of white -continue the red/white pattern until there are 3 red sections and 2 white sectionsCast off and sew the top of the hat closed-place the sts for one of the arms onto your DPNS and pick up an additional 4 sts from the body-knit 6 roundson the first of those rounds, knit the 4 sts you picked up together, so there are only twothis'll hopefully prevent giant holes- switch to beige, knit 3 rounds-on the next round, k2tog all the way around-take the needles out and thread the tail of the yarn through the sts and pull tightrepeat for the other armto make the hat brim, single crochet around the black rowto make the beard and moustache, embroider with a tapestry needle and brown yarn There you have it!! I hope it makes sense.
