Question:

Is it the brake system that causing my 1999 Ford Taurus SE to not move in drive?

I recently got another transmission put in my vehicle, because the previous one was bad, and now this one is. So I took it back to the shop so they could put another transmission in, because my car wouldn‘t move in drive (my car would‘t go in drive on the first tranny). Could it be the braking system that causing the car not to move in drive?

Answer:

some component has set a code into ur computer clear the codes by disconnecting battery- if lite come on again have a diagnostic check done
Your problem may be that connection between the warning light and its power source is not great. but this is only a thought do not take my word. But i would check your engine and the wiring connection between your dash and its connectors.in other words i would have it diagnosedauto shops may not charge for diagnosis and some might.
the only way it could be the brake system is if your parking brake is on or you have calipers hanging up. but it sounds like it,s either low on fluid or the transmission filter needs changing.
I would ask the Trans Repair shop if they found any ethylene glycol (antifreeze) in the trans. If they did then your radiator is leaking from the engine coolant chamber in to the trans cooling chamber. It may not be the problem but it might be worth asking them some questions about.
First check fluid level then have your mechanic run a diagnostics on it could be a sensor or the computer
