Question:

OSHA approved lab safety goggles for Chemistry?

Hi, I'm taking Chem 1A, and we're supposed to have OSHA approved laboratory safety goggles as one of our materials for the class. I have a pair of neon safety goggles that I bought a couple of years ago from my science teacher. They have a professional label with safety remarks and whatnot, and it Meets ANSI Z87.1 Requirements. Are these also OSHA approved? Where can you figure out if they are? Does anyone who has OSHA approved goggles know if it would say on the little clear package that encloses the glasses, or a website that tells you? Thanks so much!

Answer:

Infant Tylenol, pedialyte and an extra pacifier?
Odds are that the detector was probably placed there for engineering reasons. You do not want to move a smoke detector off of the ceiling or high on the wall. This is where smoke migrates during a fire. If this detector is interconnected with others you may want to see about an alternative such as remote battery power for all smoke detectors in the house. I would consult a fire protection company. If this was installed by a fire protection company you should call that one first for information.
Uses for fire extinguishers. 1. Door Holder 2. Weapon 3. Fun and Games 4. Paperweight 5. Wall Decoration 6. Load with Paint (Lots of fun!) 7. Waterfights 8. Shoot off into your buddy's dorm room 9. Shoot off into your buddy's car 10. Cool your beer I feel like I might have missed a big one, but I cannot put my finger on it? Misuse of fire protection equipment can result in a fine and/or jailtime. There is only one legal use, make no mistake.
