I can not find my transmission fluid cap my 99 cavalier(2.2l). It is a 5 speed manual, on all my other cars it was very accessible.
Look at the front of the trans case by the engine. You should see a black cap that unscrews off
You can not check the trans fluid in a manual the same way you check an auto trans. There is no dipstick or cap, but a plug on the trans itself that must be removed to check.
If your talking about the clutch fluid, then check level of brake fluid (the clutch uses the fluid from your master cylinder). If your talking about gear oil, then you have unscrew a filler plug on the side of the transmission case.
