I need short examples like a fire hydrant catching on fire or a person getting hit by a ambulance
Hi. I live almost 2 hour drive north of Anchorage. The biggest adjustment will be weather. I've lived AK most of my life and still not used to the crazy weather. The sun will go down for about 5 hours on summer solstice and vice versa in winter. The summers will be much noticeably shorter than TX; but are great because in the heart of the summer it is plenty warm, but not too hot. Also, it is light enough to see all night. I love it. Anchorage is a city with almost 300,000. It has all the conveniences of any major city: malls, chain restaurants, outlet stores, etc. None of the major roads are closed in winter; that was a false statement. Some of the mountain passes, with no population, are closed in winter. Your Focus will be fine. You will want to buy studded tires for the winter (actual metal studs for traction). My wife drives a Focus and we get way more snow than Anchorage. Feel free to email me if you want more information.
Firstly, there is NO way - NO WAY! - anyone from legal aid anywhere, anytime is running the file for a civil action. Period. What you have is a criminal matter. That said, however, it sounds like there have been some pretty fundamental errors made. You'll have to write to the attys' governing body in your jurisdiction (law society/ bar association) to file a complaint indicating: 1) atty did not properly take instructions regarding the provision of documents to client for approval as requested (date/time + supplemental evidence of request); 2) documents unapproved were filed regardless and at the wrong county (include all of evidence of this) and 3) atty has not taken steps proper or o/w to obtain a court date in clear and flagrant breach of due process rules and protections, which may thus imperil your rights in that regard. Explain that you're not sure how to proceed on the matter - which procedures may be required to obtain alternate legal aid counsel in the circs if such a thing is indeed possible and whether any further information is required from you regarding your complaint. It is unadvisable to try running the file w/o counsel tho many try. The problem is, there is no obligation on the court to make allowances for self-rep'd defendants, so you could lose horribly at trial and in most cases the right to appeal as well. Is that a risk you want to take?
