Answer:

that really happened to a cat I hit. no joke. i nailed a cat at 60mph in my 65 impala on a rural hwy in idaho. the next day they paved the road and that lump stayed in the road for the next several years until they paved it again.
sorry some people have given you some rediculas answers and treated you like a idiot when your not breastfeeding isnt easy for some it just happens and others its a struggle to get into a pattern but sometimes it just clicks and works , if your finding the sheild is working keep going babies do often jsut suck for comfort so maybe try a pacifier/dummy you could also try expressing and feeding him by bottle medela make some bottles that fantasticly mimic the breast even release it slowly and they need to suck alot harder than a normal teat to get it hospitals use these to train babies how to feed, good luck i hope it starts working for you soon and if not formula is not evil its a way of providing nutrition for your child
i dont buy the whole, nipples being to short stuff! thats just silly! i found breastfeeding quite hard for the first couple of months. and for the first month, my daughter had a hard time learning to latch right without a nipple shield. all you can do(and some may disagree, but your baby wont starve, i promise!) is keep trying with AND without the nipple shield. if you're supplementing, he very well may choose the bottle over the breast, because its much easier to latch to a bottle than a boob. and making extra holes in the shield wont help. right now, he's chosing the bottle and the nipple shield because its sumply easier for him to latch. he needs to learn(and you need to learn) to do it without. it is in no way an easy matter! but if you keep trying, you will get it. once they learn, and you learn.. its stupidly simple!
