I am a mechanic and I have a 2003 Durango.transmission servicing is the most over looked part of preventive maintnance.so good deal changing it.it is really not that difficult.I usually remove all of my pan bolts except the four corner ones,,then with pan in place to catch fluid start loosening two on each end at a time to allow pan to start draing gradually then with two bolts remaining in one end pan is now leaning slightly to allow most of the fluid to drain before removing final bolts,as pan is easier to handle with less fluid in it,then filter is easily removed and about a pint more fluid runs out when you pull filter down(did I mention this can get messy, trans fluid will drip from valve body the entire time!) there is a collector magnet in bottom of pan as you clean the pan be sure and clean off magnet and leave in pan, usually carb cleaner works good to remove graphite and fluid.some have reusable pan gasket and it will say it on pan bottom,if not remove old gasket and make sure both surfaces are cleaninstall new filter.align gasket to pan to make sure all holes lign up then a thin adhesive caot on pan to hold gasket in place(emblem adhesive works best)and start replacing pan bolts,by hand till all in then just snug them up with ratchet carefull not to over tighten.make sure you use the required fluid for yours,,,should be dex-4.and it takes almost 5 quarts to refill trans.run engine enough to get accurite reading and check fluid twice to be certain is full
Transmission filters are always positioned inside the trans. pan on the bottom of the valve body. You'll need to loosen all the bolts around the pan initially. Completely remove the ones that are in the lowest location. Place a large crankcase oil drain pan under that site. You may or may not need to tap on the side of the pan or pry between the pan and transmission case to free it up. Drain as much off as you can. The pan will be heavy when you remove the remaining screws as there is still a lot of trans fluid inside. A floor jack with a small piece of plywood between the jack and pan will help. When you drop the pan the filter will be staring straight at you. Usually a small bracket with a small bolt is all that holds it on. Buy a good filter. NAPA Brand filters are made by WIX.
If the ABS system is faulty the light will come on the fault could be any number of things.“Brake Pressure Sensor” or “Brake Pressure Sender faults are common and on older cars and often require the ABS pump module to be replaced. Another issue can be wear and tear related damage wiring from the sensors or debris build-up around the sensors
Brake fluid will draw moisture from the air and once introduced into the braking system and gets heated and creates bubbles in your system which causes brake failure.
