Someone was telling me their car had one to quiet the intake, they removed it and gained a lot of power. I know my truck has a pretty quiet intake, so could it have an air intake baffle? Thanks.
That someone is full of it!!! All car makes and models have baffles to quiet down the intake. Installing an aftermarket intake is the best way to go. You can get a good deal for that year too. Horse power wise, you can get anywhere from 5-15 hp gain.but then again, that's engine hp. So by the time it goes through the engine through the drive shaft and to the wheels, you get a good 2hp gain. That someone who said it gained power is just feeling the engine being able to breath better with through acceleration. I say buy an after market intake coz' takin of the baffles could cause some leakage on the intake in which dirt particles can enter your engine.
