Question:

Car stopped at red light but is now fine. Will this happen again?

2003 hyundai sonata:My car engine stopped humming when I was waiting for a light and I wasn‘t able to move. The battery was fine (I put my hazard lights on) and the gas was fine. However, it was on drive and I wasn‘t able to shift past neutral to put it in park and turn off the car, and the brake pedal was locked (I couldn‘t push down)After about 10 minutes (after calling AAA and someone for advice) I was somehow able to shift it to park and turn the car off. I then restarted the engine and everything was fine. Is this because of the anti-lock braking system or is it some other issue?

Answer:

Antilock brakes have nothing to do with it- those just prevent the wheels from locking up. Is your Check Engine Light on? If so, you can go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts and have then use their computer to check your computer for free. Write back here with what the finding is. There is a chance this is due to your alternator, so have the folks at Advance run a charging systems test.
