Well, I'm very sure that you get regular trims as your hair grows. Saying that, if all of that highlighted hair has grown out and been trimmed off, I'm sure they'll accept it. I'm not to sure they will if its like.. halfway down or something.
Nomex, is probably what you are referring to. A fire proof material used in fire fighter gear, race car drivers suits, etc. It is basically a form of nylon, the fire suit I have has a Dupont logo on it. Not really any steps, similar to nylon of cotten in that it is woven.
