Question:

Replacing studs in studded tires?

I have a set of studded snow tires on my truck. Some of the studs are flat and no longer grip the ice. I would like to replace the flattened carbide studs but I cannot find replacements. These are not the wheel studs that hold the wheel on to the vehicle, these are the studs in the studded tires.

Answer:

complicated subject. do a search on yahoo and bing. just that may help!
Half hour labor and cost of the stud and nut with markup. I would say 60 bucks or so parts and labor is more than fair.
Have you checked tire dealerships that sell studded tires? I used to buy replacement studs all the time. Granted it's been years since I had to purchase studded tires, but they should still be available at a tire shop.
