Answer:

I HATE speed bumps, NOT because I'm a speeder, but because they cause you to slow down TOO much for the conditions. Also, they're not good for your suspension pieces. I think those speed sensing cameras would be a better deterent, and don't damage your car
Yes. Speed bumps do benefit road safety. In my neighborhood, speed bumps are a common occurrance. Speed bumps cause you as the driver to slow down. The purpose of the speed bumps is for drivers to slow down. It has the purpose of reducing speed. Normally drivers speed at least 10 mph above the limit. Speed bumps cause the driver to slow down at least 10 to 15 mph. Otherwise you will end up damaging your vehicle by speeding over a bump. Most drivers do not want to do any damage to their car, so it is a must that they slow down. As a result you have fewer accidents, lower speeds, and fewer pedestrian accidents. Overall, I believe speed bumps help because they decrease your speed which cuts down the accident ratio.
If it is a hard wire detector there should be a battery in the unit but its hard to get into. I have a smoke detector that does the same thing and landed up taking it down, i know its not the thing to do. My husband managed to get the battery out with much persuasion. There is another detector that works only of a battery, usual they only have a five year life span, even with a new battery. There has been other units that last much longer, l think up to 10 yrs. Best advice is to ask the local fire service if you are not to sure, you can never be to care full! Best of luck
Speed bumps, if placed too far apart, will actually increase speeds as people try to make up lost time. Speed HUMPS work better. These are longer and rounder, and are designed to be crossed at about 20 mph, which is a better compromise. They still slow people sown, but don't annoy drivers as much, and don't damage firetrucks or hurt ambulance patients as much. If you have the time, google traffic calming for more info.
They stress human beings to sluggish their velocity. i might assume in case you circulate over a velocity bump, somewhat the thin ones, you're risking injury to the vehicle. yet human beings could purely decelerate whilst coming to a velocity bump besides. that's needless to say there for a reason.
