Fire Extinguishers are classified by the types of fires they extinguish
EPM cannot be transmitted by a horse to another horse. The opossum feces ingested by horses is the major mode of transmission identified so far. Cats, raccoons, skunks, and armadillos also carry the parasite and when an opossum eats road kill carrion of one of these animals, becomes infected and spreads the parasite to horses when they ingest its feces dropped in hay, feed, or pastures. Exposed or infected mares may or may not pass the parasite to the foal. There is no conclusive study determining it one way or the other that I can find. You should consult with an equine veterinarian on it. You can rule EPM out in your mares by having a Western Blot Test performed. If it comes back negative, then EPM is ruled out. If it comes back positive, then a cerebrospinal fluid sample can be obtained to definitively diagnose or rule out EPM.Are you sure that the stud was positively diagnosed with EPM? Other neurologic conditions resemble it and sometimes EPM is misdiagnosed. At any rate, all of this should be being discussed with an equine vet in order to serve the best interests of all of the horses involved.
Chains are nice but need to be installed right.. TO properly install chains you need to drop the tire pressure down then install the chains then pump the tires back up to operating pressure.. The cute little cables and 19.95 specials at walmart just might break and damage the entire side of the car. It would be easier to get a cheap set of used rims put studded tires on the front wheels then keep the new tires on the stock rims. that way Your nice new summer tires will last twice as long and the nice rims dont get beat up.
