if i were to get a widebody kit, im assuming i need wheel spacers as well, correct? or is there another way
difficult factor. look into from google and yahoo. that will will help!
You can buy what they call deep dish wheels, which changes the centerline of the wheel so that if pushes the tires farther outside the body. This would be much more expensive than wheel spacers. I would not purchase wheel spacers until after I installed the body kit, that way you know whether or not they are necessary. I would use wheel spacers for a car. However, on lifted trucks where I want to widen the track, I have always used deep dish wheels over spacers for strength.
If you install a widebody kit and plan on keeping your stock wheels; they would only be recessed a few inches. If you do plan on getting spacers; before you buy them; check to see IF you can use them or if you will touch your inner fender with the outside of the tire. Also; don't buy cheap ones or you might find that they aren't balanced perfectly and will cause a shake in your wheel. You can get other wheels that will stick out slightly farther. What you need to check is wheel offset; it will determin how much further in or out the new wheels will be; rather than only a particular type (deep dish).
