Question:

what is the standard transmission in a 1994 chevy silverado ext. cab 2 wd?

my transmission went out out in my 1994 chevy silverado ext. cab and i dont know what the transmission is it is a factory transmission which is it the 4L60E or the 700R

Answer:

By that time the 700r4 was called a 4L60. That was also the time they were moving to the 'E' series of electronic controlled transmissions. It may have depended on the engine option for which transmission you got. Easiest way to tell what you have is look at the linkage on the side of the throttle body (electronic carburetor like dodad). There will be one cable for the gas pedal, one for the cruise control (if equipped), and if its a non E transmission there will be a 3rd cable that goes down to the transmission. IF its an E transmission that 3rd cable wont be there, just the one to the cruise and the one to the gas pedal. You also need to stick with 2x4. The 4x4's which are the most common have the same basic case and guts but the output shaft is different and to change the shaft you have to take the whole thing apart so its not worth the time to swap em.
Yes. You get your copper pipe and you soldier reducer fittings onto the ends to reduce your pipe to whatever you want to reduce your pipe to.
Reducers will work fine. Also, heating and drawing the pipe lengthwise will create a gradual taper to a smaller opening.
i might bypass with the silverado, they're solid autos, not putting down the toyota, however the Chevy has greater payload, and the x tra cabs doors do open up,yet they actually have a collection cab
The local hardware store sells reducers of all sizes.
