I purchased my first home in November, and already have this problem! Last night when I let myself in, when I was removing the key from the lock it almost felt like someone was pushing the key out to me. Tonight, it took me 20 minutes to get inside. It feels as if the knob is jiggling about a bit, and the key had to be worked in piece by piece. What's going on here? Do I need a new lock and doorknob?
As far as regular types of snaffles go, eggbutts or dees are good because they can't pinch the horses lips like a loose ring snaffle. I'd always use bit guards with a loose ring. And, like some else said, I'd get her teeth checked. That would eliminate that as the problem. If she has no problem with her teeth, you can start trying different bits.
The particular colors used may vary from location to location (small towns and large cities don't do things the same way). The reason for the different colors is usually the flow rate. Not all hydrants can supply the same amount of water. By having a color code, the Fire Dept. can quickly determine if they need to lay lines or tap another hydrant. Or even run a tanker shuttle.
